ok. so i read twilight. then stopped and got off the band-wagon. i thought it was pathetic. however, i continued to see twilight memrobilia. people wearing the word "edward" on T-shirts, necklaces, bags, and even posters being hung in people's homes. i began to question myself. did i read the wrong book? was there something wrong with me? so when months went by i rolled my eyes at the obbsession women were having on the upcoming movie. an obsession unlike any other i had witnessed in my whole life. agian, i began to question myself. why did it seem so rediculous to me and yet people i knew, people i loved were being brainwashed by the crazy vampire love. i ignored it again. and yet had a strong desire to someday figure out why such a stupid story could captivate so many. so when james came home from work one night with the coveted vampire movie in hand, i had to watch it. and i finally figured it out. everyone was playing a cruel trick on me. nobody really likes it. they couldn't! impossible. truly impossible. the acting was as bad as the "romantic" story-line. james and i burst into laughter over and over again at the corny dialoge and acting. when the movie was finally over james leaned in saying..."do you feel like you just lost brain cells...i do!" i laughed and we were just grateful that we hadn't paid for it. even a redbox bill of $1.00 wouldn't have been worth it.
so thanks for the joke all you women who claimed to love it. you had me going for a while.

LOL...oh Marci, I think you're funny. But it's even funnier that I actually do love the books! Oh well, maybe I *am* crazy :)
Well,.. although I admit to likeing the books okay,.. I am not obsessed and deffinatly laughed through the whole move, and think it's a rediculous story line, but I did read all the books because I had to find out how obnoxious Bella could get.
I am so glad to hear that! I refuse to read the books or watch the movie because everyone loves them. I did the same thing with Harry Potter.
oh man you got me laughing! yes..it is a joke, i can't believe you actually fell for it. :)
Let me start by saying that the movie was HORRIBLE! Honestly, I don't know how they could have made it worse!! I also need to say that I enjoyed the books because they were quick reads...I do not currently have vampire posters strung throughout my home and I DO NOT dream of extremely pale men biting my neck.
Thanks for listening to my spiel.
i liked the books, i wasn't as crazy about them as some, but they were entertaining enough to keep me busy at night. the movie i could have done without, especially the group of girls behind us in the theater who all sqealed when edward appeared. the movie did however provide a good laugh for my sister and i.
AMEN! I don't get it either!
I loved reading the books, the movie was a bit ridiculous, sorry you hated it so much
Marci you are funny! I did read all of the Twilight books, and I admit I didn't totally love them either! SOME of the books were entertaining to read, but the fact that Bella is so whiny and obnoxious, especially in the books is enough to make you want to give the books to D.I.! Just be glad you didn't spend time and money reading all 4 of the books, because the last book is the WORST! Total cop-out ending that just made me mad!
I still think you need to read Harry Potter though...LOL! Those ARE good books- And I thought I would hate them too!
kristi...i did! i actually liked harry potter. oh my heck, i can't believe i just admitted that! but i liked the books and movies on that one!
Just when I was really starting to enjoy you.. you go and deeply offend me! Actually.. just deeply embarrassed.. that although I hadn't read the books-- went to the movie, and fell in love with a vampire. I have a blog post from that night that will make you cringe with disgust. Sorry. I just want someone to think I smell THAT good.. and climb me like a monkey into the treetops!
I didn't get it either when I read the books. I didn't see the movie; one trailer was enough for me.
"Say it. Say the word."
"Vampire."
Ok yes i did jump on the bandwagon... not til later (cause i was the same way, why is everyone so obsessed?).... BUT- i have to admit that i really LOVED the books, i couldn't put them down, the movie wasn't as good as the book i must say, but i still enjoyed it! ha ha, sorry you were disapointed!
Haha I love all the comments on this post. I liked the books...easy read and entertaining...I agree with Kristi about the last one though. When Jake and I watched the movie, we both just kept waiting for it to get better but it never did, it just got worse and worse. Jake is annoyed that it did so well and that they are making the second book. Well there are my thoughts.
What a great thoughts. I tried reading the books years ago because all of my students loved it and I was a little suspicious. Could not get past page 20. Started again in December and I am on page 350 but not that into it only only reading if I can't think of something else to read. I am with ya!
I don't get it either. It's not my thing. I haven't read the books and have no plans to.
I am a fan.... not of Edward, and not of Vampires.... But I think she Stephanie Myer does a great job of allowing the reader to be swept away from things that are NOT real and therefore a fantasy!
But she also does a great job of bringing it all together in something that we all crave "a love story" A girl rescued by a gloomy situation (Divorced parents, rainy days, and high school) Although I think that Bella is very negative and kind of a waste.... We all crave someone coming into our lives and making us feel worthwhile and "craved" Whether that be by our time, talents, or personality. And in Bella's case it was her scent. I think there are deeper meanings in the silly vampire story line.
I thought the movie was poorly done. And I wish that they would have done a better job with the way the author described certain situations.... I think that for the teenagers out there, all they cared about was how Edward looked.
Wow this is a long comment.... Sorry I thing I just wanted to justify why "I" got caught up reading these books! But you will never see me where an Edward T-shirt. Unless, it is to further fool you Marci! Now I know what to get you for your Birthday! I have seen the shirt in the store it reads: "Waiting for Edward.." Just let me know your size! :)
Edward is the bane of my existance
I especially loved the part in the movie where Bella first walks into the classroom and sees Edward, and the big classroom fan behind her blows her hair (and scent) away in a sweeping, romantic, slow-motion, lustful sort of way...
You and me a quite alike, it appears. I didn't even finish the books because I hated them, but I couldn't help but rent the stupid movie from Redbox - thinking that I must have been missing something. I wasn't. It really was as stupid as I thought.
Worst movie ever!--enough said
