memorial weekend

we went to the cabin this weekend for some much needed R&R! james and i LOVE bear lake and tend to spend every summer weekend there. we chill at the pool, watch loads of movies, play so many games, relax in the hottub, go on walks, four-wheel rides, and golf. {actually the golfing is just the men} bowen is starting to realize just how great this little getaway really is. we tend to not care if his diet is high in cookies and juice and if naptime is small or missing!

on friday i was frantically trying to pack up for us all as soon as i got home from school. bowen started reading books in his chair and it was soon very quiet. i peeked my head in to see what kind of mischieveous behavior he was engaged in and....

the little angel had fallen asleep. so that meant change of plans. i wanted him to sleep on the way up, but instead he took his nap first and screamed on the way up. {like i said, the routine tends to slip out the window on the weekends!}

we spent alot of time playing with Krew. he's growing so fast! bowen just loves this little guy, whenever he's not in the room all we hear is "baby?? baby?? baby??" he showers him with hugs and kisses constantly and is the best babysitter while the baby's in his swing, watching his every move!

church was one of the worst (as far as the kids go!) we've had in a long time but suprisingly not embarrassing at all. {cause nobody knows us!!} one old man did come up to me after sacrament, this was our conversation...

old man: we were watching you're little boy all through sacrament.

me: well, he'll give you a lot to watch. {walking away with a smile}

old man: {grabs my arm and pulls me in} let me tell you, you're already done. that boy is already independent!

me: {sigh}

another women who saw me trying to calm him in the foyer said..."is he having a seizure?"

needless to say, bowen was so excited to be back at the cabin after church and being able to run a muck! here's a blurry picture to proove it.

all weekend bowen and havyn were the best of friends. they played together constantly, whether it was putting all his balls in the toilet and dispensing all the toilet paper, or bowen straightening havyn's hair with my chi they were laughing together!! i loved that they were having so much fun. they held hands everywhere they went! so cute!

such a fun weekend. now we're back to homework, housework and life! oh boy!
