changes are a comin'....

my mom and dad got their mission call this week. take a minute to think about all the mission's in the world. pick one...one you think they're going to.....

got it....

final answer????..........

well you're wrong! they're going to Ghana! can you believe it? i've known for only a few days, but everytime i say the word, "Ghana" i can't believe it all over again! oh, and it's in AFRICA by the way! {if you're like me, your first thought was...."i need a map!"}
i've always been extremely close to my parents. i love them to death! i mean really love them. when i was in junior high and high school, the time when you're suppose to dispise your parents, i would spend weekends with them instead of with my friends sometimes. they supported me fully through dance and cheer and i even wanted them on my senior trip with me to hawaii! my mom is my best friend. i call her when i'm sad, happy, tired, hungry, anxious, nervous, upset, calm or anywhere inbetween, in other words we're either together or on the phone with each other. she knows me better than i know myself sometimes! thinking about going months without seeing her makes me so sad. my dad is my biggest fan! he's always encouraging me to make right decisions in my life and offers silent counsel more than he knows. i'll admit, i'm a daddy's girl!! and dispite the fact that i love these two people so much and can't imagine a week without seeing their smiling faces, i couldn't be more excited and proud to know that they are choosing to serve the Lord! i get chills down my spine from their righteous example, and i'm humbled to think i'm lucky enough to call myself their daughter!
so sometime within the next two years that their gone james and i will have to save our pretty penny's for a trip to Ghana so i can wear babies on my back, groceries on my head and more importantly see my mommy and daddy! (ie. george and mince!)

everything i read talks about the amazing people of Ghana. They are so welcoming and friendly and live a life of simplicity and spirituality. The church there is flurishing and they have a gorgeous temple now!

Congratulations mom and dad!
so, james and i officially have our house up for sale if you know anyone that is in the market for a house please send them our way! {pictures to come!}

Awesome Marci! I am so excited for your parents. I think I would of had to go for the map also. They will make great missionaries. What are they going to do without all their grandbabies close by? : ) Super excited for all of the fun changes coming to you and your family!

Wow...Ghana!! That's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! My sister's brother-in-law (yeah, kind of an out-there relation!) served in the Uganda mission and he loved Africa. I think that would be an INCREDIBLE place to visit!!

Okay, I am highly worried that you might be moving away and we haven't even gotten together yet!! I hope you're feeling better and good luck with your beautiful home!
