Surf's up!

ten minutes after bowen's birthday party last weekend, our friends from california called with a offer to meet them in vegas for a fun filled weekend on lake mead. it took us only ten seconds to agree and by the next morning we had the car lubed, packed, and sparklin' clean for our first ever pratt family road trip to vegas!! bowen was more than excellent for the seven hour car ride, we couldn't have been more pleased with the little man! we pulled into vegas around 12:30am and went straight to bed. by 8:00am we were up and ready to hit lake mead for some much anticipated boating! the weather was perfect and we were with great company. james and i both tried wake surfing for the first time and LOVED every second of it! I was pretty proud of myself for the mere fact that i got up on the water, but that i could actually ride the wave for sometimes longer than 30 seconds was asstonishing! i think our awesome friends have officially converted us to boating!

"I boat mom"! yes, bowen loved the boat too, it was the water he wanted nothing to do with. he took some of his best naps on the boat and loved clapping for mom and dad as we face-planted into the waves! {i think he thought falling was the object of the game}

On our last night there {when we were suppose to be driving home, but deciding against it} we took the boys to the hotels kids quest {babysitters!} and got to got on a date! we went to one of the resturants in the casino and then hit the slots were i decided to try ONE DOLLAR and in less than 5 seconds my DOLLAR became $0.04. sadly, i decided gambling is not my thing. good thing i only lost a dollar!
