"Happy Day Dadda"

james' birthday was yesterday! we had so much fun celebrating with him. bowen kicked it off with a good morning birthday song.."happy day dadda to you, happy day dadda to you..." we then had an enormous french toast breakfast and james opened some of his presents since bowen couldn't handle the anticipation of them sitting there ALL day! later, after picking bowen up at the babysitters i informed him that we needed to go get balloons. i wish i could have captured his face when he whispered back "balloons???" with eyes popping out of his little head! he picked out some great tractor balloons for his dad and we rushed home to get started on the birthday boy's cake.

james wanted to try out the new Texas Roadhouse for his birthday dinner! dang, they have good steak! bowen was thrilled that they had a "neigh neigh" saddle. he was pretty sad when we informed him that we couldn't eat our dinner on the "neigh neigh"!

when we got home james opened his last presents, cards and made a wish.....

bowen ran away for a minute, while i was cleaning up and doing the dishes from the cake. i should have known he was getting his stool so he could get a taste of the goodness! (the poor cake had some pretty good size finger holes when all was said and done!)

i'm so grateful for birthdays that make us reflect on our loved ones. james is so dang good to me. i sometimes can't believe how happy he makes me, and how great we are together! happy birthday james!
