bowen is reaching the age were we should be teaching him a thing or two about using the potty! so we have. it all started when we purchased the elmo movie "potty time" and thought for sure, he'd like the idea of being clean. (since he's always been such a clean freak!) but although, he loves the movie, and watches it regularly, he is not liking the idea of the toilet to much. i'm letting him decide when he's ready on this one so it's fine. but yesterday when he found the undies i had bought for a bargain a few months ago he wanted to try them on. we had a long discussion about wearing undies. i told him that when he decides he wants to use the potty then he can wear undies all the time and he'll be a "BIG BOY!" he listened intently the whole time. saying things like, "yeah, big boy!" and "undies?" i was starting to get excited, thinking...'he's really getting this'. he has sat on the toilet, and understands the process and what goes in the toilet so introducing undies just seems like the next step.
after smiling for the camera and taking a long look at his new "undies" he said, quite simply..."no mom, no undies, bowen needs diaper now!"
so i guess we'll wait for a while. no rush....he'll get it someday. hopefully before kindergarten!

he is getting so big. I say next time we have a girls night we just have a party for kids too. I haven't seen bowen in over a year.

I love your attitude AND he will "get it" way before kindergarten...I PROMISE! He looks so grown up in undies! 2 1/2 seemed to be the magic age for all 3 of your brothers. According to my calculations sometime in March it will start to click for Bo! Meanwhile keep talking "potty talk".
You are SOOOO smart to not push it. When Kaden turned 2 I was determined to potty train him and it ended up blowing up in my face. It has been 2 1/2 years and we still battle with it. It has turned into a power struggle. He does pretty well now as long as he is in the mood, so my advice is wait and let him decide when it is time!
It's pretty exciting! We were having trouble with Mason until we bought him a stool from IKEA and had him turn around and stand. Let me tell you, that helped a TON! He actually gets to see what's happening. And now he stays completely dry during the day and actually won't even let me in the bathroom because he does it all by himself! Our boys are growing up too fast!

Cooper also loved the new undies, but not the toilet. We are just now, after a year of undies, getting to where he hates having a diaper on at even at night..
Oh so cute. Love the pictures. And we are not potty experts ourselves either....just waiting until he's ready which may be when he's five. : ) Gotta love it.
