Bright Future Preparatory School

james and i and my parents spent a day at the 'bright future preparatory school'.
james and the children getting learned!
visiting with the kids
they let the children come up one at a time and "teach" the other children. all the schooling is done in english, so we could understand most of it.
the children begin school at 18months. they just seemed so tiny to be going to school.
we spent some time helping them draw fruits in their art books we had brought. they loved drawing, and were pretty good! notice all their desks were donated by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. pretty cool!
me and patrick, one of the owners of the school and some of the supplies we brought for the children. Patrick quickly became a good friend of ours. we visited with him a lot. he can speak excellent english and helped james and i learn more about the ghanian culture. he'll be a forever friend!
since they are so young, they get a little tired. this little guy moved the benches together to make a bed and crawled up there to nap. even when the kids were screaming and clapping he was catching zzzz. and he wasn't the only one. so sweet!

this little girl was born with a club foot and due to the lack of medical attention it was never corrected. something that get's fixed pretty regularly in America. she has learned to walk on the side of her foot creating calluses and holes in the side of her shoe.
they all loved james. and he loved them all right back!

saying goodbye. i will never forget these children and this school.

James in that first picture looked like "Buddy The Elf" sitting at a school table. Aka, Will ferrel. Funny! Cute kids! life changing, I'm sure.
