4th of July

we had a great fourth of july this year. things were definately a little different. since we were unable to do our traditional things like the fireworks show, the parade, and the neighborhood BBQ but we made the best of it! on friday mom and dad came over and the four of us played games all night! we love a good game night!! we were able to see the fireworks from our backyard but honestly, the games were more fun so we skipped em!

on saturday we didn't really have any plans so we went on a bike ride in the morning. i was knda having a hard time so our usuall lengthy ride was cut really short and we stopped at Von's Park in Providence. all the years we've been here we've never been to that park. it's gorgeous! we explored for a little while then found a beautiful trail that ran along a river. so our bike ride turned into some hiking as well. bowen was in seventh heaven with all the sticks and rocks he found!! once we got home we did some unexpected un anticpated yard work, but it was so great just being outside! bowen and i then played in his pool for a little till it was our nap time! {yes, i now get daily naps...are you jealous??!} when we woke up it was time to go to mom and dad's for a family BBQ! talk about good eatin'!!! yummo!

we bought some dinky fireworks at walmart for bowen to do so we whipped those out after dinner. bowen was a little timid about the whole thing. he LOVED the snap bombs (the ones you just throw on the ground and they pop!) but the sparklers were a little scary especially after he grabed the wrong end and burned his little hand. {poor kid! he's fine though} we thought the night was over, but we thought wrong. we forget that my brothers are now how to have a good time! once the Wyoming fireworks came out the party was alive!!!

we had so much fun! thanks mom and dad for the great BBQ and firework show! we had so many good laughs this weekend. we sure LOVE our family!!
