when i don't have school..

a couple weeks ago my mother in law sent us a cookbook. i set in on the shelf with all the other cookbooks and went on with life. but yesterday when my homework was actually done before dinner {miracle!} i picked it up to find something to make. my other cookbooks are just getting too much attention. i glanced through it for a while and found some recipes worth trying. there's not much in there that's figure friendly, but we all need a little comfort food once in a great while! i picked the mac and cheese for last nights dinner since it was just me and bo. (and that's all he wanted:) ) while i was cooking i started reading more of the book. on several of the pages there are cute conversation starters for the dinner table. liz is a big advocate for family mealtime. as am i! one of the conversation starters said "what would you do if you didn't have school?" i thought about it for a long time. i've been looking forward to the day of graduation for so long. and since the light is nearing i decided i can make my list of things i want to do when i'm done with school. (or perhaps just SOME of the things i want to do.)

read novels by the fire (or pool!)

try more new recipes. i love trying new foods and new recipes. but lets be honest, it takes time and so i mostly stick to my little rut of about 10 recipes and they just get rotated.

sew more. in fact, i'll probably have my sewing machine set up permanently so whenever an idea stricks i can start creating. today the ideas are on scraps of paper.

vacation! i love seeing new places, near and far! i just hate waiting for school breaks to go. there is nowhere in the world i don't want to see. nowhere!

design more!! i can't wait to do remodels and new designs on our future homes. i will definately take on more clients too! i love designing!

have more family days. i love when our schedules permit a whole 24 hours of family time fun! i can't wait to take more day vacas with my little family.

i will be a much better visiting teacher. even though phone calls count and some months that's all i fit in, i would much rather have the time to visit each of the sisters every month! and more if they need it.

i'll be an avid temple attender. james and i barely make it there once a month. between 2 school schedules, 2 work schedules and finding babysitters it's quite the challenge. and honestly, i want to go more often!

i'm going to get wrapped up in a T.V. show. one that i'll look forward to cuddling with my hubby each week and watching "our show!"

and...

i'm going to go shopping with my mom! let's be honest, i'd drop any homework to spend time with my mom, but i can't help thinking that after i graduate she'll be home soon :)

for now.....i'll hit the books!

I don't want to burst your bubble but my experience is that as soon as one thing ends ie school another will fill that time ie another baby.

I think shopping trumps ALMOST everything...

I hope you find time to do all your favorite things when school is done! You deserve to be able to do it all. As long as your travels include California, it's all good with me. : ) Love ya.

Oh Marci, you will love being done with school because the list you mentioned is what I have been able to enjoy for about 4 years now and it's awesome, and yet...for some reason you miss going to class and finishing assignments. Weird huh?

If you ever need a sitter to go to the temple just give me a call.
