i never want to forget this

bowen has been complaining about his feet a lot lately. he cries about it during the night and many times during the day. we don't know if it's growing pains or if he's figured out a clever way to get lots of attention and an occasional dose of meds if he cries long and hard enough.

tonight was another night of tears while getting ready for bed. here's our conversation...

bowen: my eet urt. i need medcine
me: oh, they still hurt? you know what will help you better than medicine?
bowen: what?
me: you can ask Heavenly Father to make your feet stop hurting and He will. do you want to pray with me?
bowen: i need go get phone.
me: why do you need the phone?
bowen: i need call heaven father to come fix my feet.
me: no, we don't call him. we can just fold our arms whenever we want and talk and He will
listen.
bowen: no phone?
me: no, we just tell him what we need when we fold our arms.
bowen: ok.

bowen's prayer: dear heaven father. pease fix my feet. they hurt me. pease fix my feet. love, bowen amen.

i witnessed bowen's first true prayer to Heavenly Father tonight. A prayer of complete sincerity. i had to hurry and tuck him in so he wouldn't see the tears roll down my cheek. i hope he always remembers the power of Heavenly Father, even with our simple pleas.

there's is nothing in this world more rewarding then being a mother. no education, no job, nothing.

It is these tender and precious moments that help us to realize the sacred nature of motherhood. Bo has such a sweet spirit. I can literally see the light of Christ in his crystal blue eyes (even through my tears). Kiss his sweet little feet for me and tell him that Granma and Papa will also ask Heavenly Father to "fix" his feet.

Very, very sweet. What a little angel... I wish us grown-ups could practice even half as much faith!

Thanks for making me cry. As if I haven't done that enough the past two weeks... :)
