turtles, bunnies and bears...oh my!

we had a great easter this year. i had debated on the extent of our celebrating since it was conference weekend and the weather was well...not to spring-like. but the night before easter i thought, what the heck...we'll go all out. so i made my way to macey's where i grabbed the LAST ham, the LAST bag of plastic eggs and snatched some good candy before we were only left with peeps. and i even grabbed one of the last Easter lilies! we were ready to go!! The Easter bunny stayed up late dying eggs (with the help of some great friends!) and stuffing more for the easter egg hunt.

{Sadly pictures were few and far between till the egg hunt!}

bowen found all 70 eggs with little help. that's right, 70! i'm not sure who i was planning on showing up. i guess i just got a little carried away. (i tend to do that)

a couple days later the lily was blooming like a champ!! yipee!

we decided it wasn't quite easter without our annual trip to baby animal days so that was sure to follow.

bowen loved watching the baby bears...

he warmed up to the bunnies....

and held a tiny turtle.....

BUT none of the animals compaired to the train ride that bowen was looking forward to the minute we walked through the gate and heard the famous "choo choo!"

but when the kids decided they wanted to go on the other rides at the farm tami got a better idea! we found this decrotive handcart and piled in the kids for a long ride around the grass. they loved it! gracie said it best, "that was a fun ride and we didn't even have to pay two bucks guys!!" the boys decided to agree! {i love these kids!}

we ended the day with a visit to texas roadhouse to meet dad and some friends! bowen managed to eat the entire cup of butter before this pic! go bo!!

we'll call it a good kick-start to spring! now, if we could only get the weather to cooperate!

I really like the butter at Texas Roadhouse too Bowen. The rolls are just a shovel to get the butter in my mouth.
